PhD (Cranfield), CEng MIMechE FHEA


Rukshan obtained his PhD in Aerospace Engineering at Cranfield University and currently working as a Senior Lecturer and Leading the Aerospace Research Group at the University of South Wales. Before joining academia, he has spent much of his career working as an Engineer, Researcher and Senior Executive in automotive and aerospace industry. The research undertaken by Rukshan is concept driven and in a wider range of disciplines including aerodynamics, propulsion, non-destructive testing, and design and optimization. His current research focuses on design and development of novel electric propulsion systems and drives for automotive, marine and aerospace applications. Rukshan use variety of numerical and experimental tools and techniques to develop propulsion technologies from initial conception through increasing levels of technology readiness with a constant view towards commercialization and real world use.
