About

Geoffrey is Professor of Information Systems and Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Science. Geoffrey started his Higher Education career at the University of Bristol, and was Pro Dean at London South Bank University before joining the University of South Wales in August 2014.

Geoffrey has held a range of teaching, research and academic management posts in Universities over the last 25 years; and various external and consultancy appointments with a range of UK and overseas Higher Education Institutions.

Experience

Geoffrey has extensive experience of university curriculum design, development and assessment from Undergraduate to Doctorate level; and has been involved in a range of accreditation and approval events for national Quality Assurance bodies in Hong Kong, Dubai, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Geoffrey has lectured in the UK and abroad. Geoffrey has also been an external examiner and quality assurance consultant to universities in Denmark, Greece, Cyprus, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Botswanna, Uzbekistan, Dubai, Oman and Saudi Arabia. Geoffrey has been involved in a range of quality assurance and professional body accreditation and approval events for government bodies in Hong Kong, Dubai, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Geoffrey has authored three international student textbooks for Pearson Higher Education in the areas of Global Business Information Technology and Mobile and Wireless Systems; and his work has been published and translated into Chinese and Greek. Geoffrey has also published papers on university quality assurance, transnational education and higher education management.

Geoffrey has been an external examiner and quality assurance consultant and advisor to various Universities in Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

Geoffrey holds a Visiting Professorships in the Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xian, China and the Emirates Aviation College in Dubai.

Geoffrey has assessed and examined students from FHEQ Level 4 (undergraduate) to FHEQ level 8 (Doctorate).

Geoffrey has published over 40 academic papers; and his academic profile was submitted to the Research Assessment Exercises (RAE) in both 2001 and 2008.

Geoffrey is on a number of editorial boards for International journals, including the International Journal for Information Science and Technology (USA); the International Journal of Network and Mobile Technologies (Malaysia & UK); and the Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE) in the USA.

Professor Elliott was an international member of the Cyber Security Education Coalition in the USA between 2009 to 2011
