About

I’ve been teaching at USW since 2001 having graduated from the same institution with a BSc (Hons) Property Management & Valuation (Auctioneering). In addition, I also hold a Diploma in Property Management & Valuation Auctioneering (University of Glamorgan) and a Certificate in Estate Agency (Cork College of Commerce, Ireland).

During my time at USW I’ve taught on modules covering topics relating to Property Valuation, Commercial Property Auctioneering, Estate Agency, Built Environment Economics, Design Economics, Development Appraisal, Financial Management, Research and Professional Development. In addition to teaching duties at USW I also teach on our international partnership at Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Suzhou, China.

Research

I’m research active and have research interests in improving pedagogy for surveying students, addressing the skills shortage in construction and commercial real estate auctions.

I’ve presented at RICS COBRA conferences or acted as reviewer since 2010. Additionally, I’ve been successful in obtaining a research grant from the Centre of Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at USW to carry out research into the use of mobile technology and social media as part of the learning experience.
