Ian Janes is a Senior Lecturer in Accountancy (0.4) and teaches Performance Management and Financial Management across a range of professional and postgraduate programmes.
A dual academic prize winner, he is a fellow of the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the HEA (Higher Education Academy). Furthermore, in 2011, 2012 and 2013 he was shortlisted for Public Sector Lecturer of the Year by PQ Magazine.
Prior to joining the University, Ian taught at Cardiff Business School and at Coleg Gwent, where he ran the Chartered Management Institute programme. He has practical audit experience from his time at Price Waterhouse Coopers (formerly Coopers and Lybrand) Chartered Accountants.
Ian is a Senior Examiner for several external bodies.
As well as a significant teaching input into the University’s ACCA programme, he has considerable experience of teaching finance to non financial managers.
Vastly experienced examiner, assessor, marker and question writer for several professional accountancy bodies.
