About

Ruth Gaffney-Rhys is a Reader in Law, based in the School of Law, Accounting and Finance. She specialises in Family law and is the Co-director for the Centre for Gender Studies in Wales. Ruth Gaffney-Rhys completed an LL.B., L.P.C. and Ph.D. at Cardiff University, the P.G.C.E. (Education and Training) at the University of Wales, Newport and was awarded an LL.D. by the University of South Wales. She has published articles in journals such as Family Law, International Family Law and Child and Family Law Quarterly.

Experience

Ruth Gaffney-Rhys has been lecturing law since 1997. She began teaching at Newport Business School (of the former University of Wales, Newport) in September 1997 and joined the School of Law, Accounting and Finance when the University of South Wales was formed in April 2013.
