Research

Having a background in Occupational Psychology and Human Resource Management, my main area of interest surrounds organisational behaviour. I am interested in factors influencing work performance such as stress, mental health issues, personality factors, emotional intelligence and employee well being. I am also interested in employability and how students can enhance their employability whilst studying full and part time courses. Current research is focusing upon stress in the public sector.

I am responsible for supervising numerous postgraduate students who undertake research (both quantitative and qualitative) in a number of fields mainly focusing on human resource management. Current research areas include emotional intelligence, employee retention and human resource development.
