After gaining a BSc(Economics) at Cardiff University, Martin Williams spent six years in financial accountancy before taking up a lecturing post at what is now the City of Newport Campus, Coleg Gwent, in 1979. He became Unit Leader for Business & Management courses there in 1992 before moving to Crosskeys Campus in 1996 as Programme Manager for Business, Secretarial and IT courses throughout the six campuses of Coleg Gwent. In 1997, he became Faculty Director at Ebbw Vale Campus and General Manager of City of Newport Campus in 1999. In 2001 he was appointed a visiting tutor at the University of Wales, Newport, in both the School of Education and the School of Business. He is now a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education and Programme Leader for the BA PcET course. He also teaches and is a personal tutor on the PGCE/Cert.Ed. PcET part-time provision and is the CPI Link Co-ordinator for Coleg Ceredigion.
