Current research interests focus around interior spaces, with emphasis on the evolution of the domestic space in particular the kitchen as the ‘heart of the home’ and the history and implications of architecture, design and technological advances on the family unit and the translation of this through to the wider society. Educational research interests have centred on ‘Rogerian’ humanist theories of education, with a belief in the holistic growth of the individual student. How best to engage Art, Media and Design students in the theoretical underpinnings of their practice remains a key concern.
