I graduated from the University of Wales Newport (now USW) in 2000 having studied English and History. I enjoyed my time at University and it sparked in me a passion for education and life-long learning. Since graduating, my professional development has focussed on disability awareness, equality and inclusivity including: British Sign Language (CACDP level 1), Special Educational Needs (Post Graduate Diploma), Mental Health First Aid, Autism Awareness, Inclusive Learning and Teaching Environments.
I have over 14 years of experience of supporting learners to access education and training in a variety of roles and am dedicated to ensuring that educational opportunities are available to and inclusive of all. Since 2007, I have worked within Student Services at the University as Disability Adviser supporting disabled students to access Higher Education (HE).
In August 2017, I took on my current role as Senior Disability Adviser leading our Disability Adviser and Specialist Study Skills Tutor teams in providing excellent student support and contributing to the development of inclusive learning environments and practices at USW.
