About

Luc manages a programme of support to help academic staff amplify the economic and social impact of their research by engaging with businesses and public and third sector organisations. Luc has nearly 20 years experience of knowledge transfer between universities and businesses, and works closely with stakeholders including the Welsh Government to develop an environment that supports innovation and impact generation in the region. His specialist skills include commercialising intellectual property, developing research collaborations, promoting research to external audiences and developing impact strategies.

Outside work, Luc enjoys long distance cycling and running. He lives with his family in Cardiff.

Responsibilities

Leading the delivery of research impact support programme for academics from across all four Faculties of the University including

  • Offering a programme of online and face to face Impact training for staff
  • Coaching staff to develop Impact through translational projects and other interventions
  • Marketing and reporting on research impact both internally and externally

Development of research impact funding with regional stakeholders including Welsh Government’s Innovation Programmes and regional business partnerships
