About

I have published over 80 papers in peer reviewed international journals, refereed international conferences and national seminars, with more in preparation as well as submitting more than 40 technical research reports to bodies such as the European Commission. This work has focused on two main themes: -

1. The application of artificial intelligence techniques for the monitoring and control of a variety of engineering systems and processes, such as the monitoring and prediction of cutting insert breakage during face milling, the control of waste water treatment processes and the monitoring and control of combustion systems.

2. The development of a fundamental understanding of the factors that affect the generation of acoustic emission during the machining of metals.
