Hannah completed her BSc(Hons) in Mathematics in summer 2011.
Since graduation she started working on her PhD at the University of Glamorgan. Her work involves developing data analysis methods to support efforts of National Botanic Gardens of Wales on Plant Barcoding project.

The project involves using the DNA barcode of all the native flowering plants in Wales. Our first task is to locate DNA regions that can be used to identify Species, Order, Genus and
Family level. In the future we plan to take advantage of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) method to develop ecological genomic applications. We are collaborating with the National
Botanic Gardens of Wales (who are supplying the barcoding data) in the development of the algorithms for the DNA barcoding data analysis. The project has been funded by the
European Union through the KESS Studentship.
