Main Teaching Areas:
Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Interaction
Cognitive architecture, Problem Solving, Spatial representation, Memory for website content
Current Research Activity:
My primary research is into the use of output buffering in cognition. I am currently developing a variant of Anderson’s ACT-r architecture to explore how output buffering affects different cognitive behaviour (to start with I am developing models of problem solving in the Tower of London problem). I am also investigating the spatial priming of recognition using Virtual Reality environments and the picture superiority effect in memory for e-commerce websites.
