Sara joined HEPRU in November 2010 on an MPhil/PhD Studentship. Her mixed methods research will explore the challenges of applying standard methods of economic evaluation to Critical Care Outreach Services (CCOS). Phase one will involve the undertaking of a national survey to identify current service configurations of CCOS in Wales. This will assist the development of a typology of models for CCOS, which will effectively create the sampling frame for phase two. Phase two will be of multiple case study design. Case studies will further explore the complexity, heterogeneity and uncertainty surrounding CCOS, for the purpose of developing a framework for future economic evaluation.
