Graduating from the University of Glamorgan with a first class BA Honours degree in Fashion Design, combining additional units of study from Central St. Martins, London, Jayne went on to win the London Graduate Fashion Week Ecological Design Award (2008), Carno International Bag Design (2008) and was a finalist in the Ffres Design for Wales (2008)
Jayne Pierson has gained a wealth of luxury brand experience interning and working for couture designers Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. Jayne worked on the pattern-cutting of special orders for private couture clients for Vivienne Westwood and worked extensively on the S/S 2009 women’s wear ‘Do It Yourself’ Gold Label and A/W 2008 ‘Chaos Point’ collections including the Paris S/S 2009 couture show working closely with Vivienne herself in preparing garments and assisting in styling the show. Jayne also interned and worked for Alexander McQueen on the pre S/S 2008 collection and the Isabella Blow couture tribute show in Paris. During her time at Alexander McQueen Jayne assisted and designed prints digitally and hand-drawn that went into production for the mainline collections.
Jayne Pierson successfully launched her debut S/S 2010 collection exclusively with On|Off at London Fashion Week in 2009 sponsored by Vogue.com and Lotus. On|Off is the renowned independent showcase which also successfully exhibited Piersonâ€™s Titania’s Dream Collection A/W 2010 and the Twin Parallel Collection S/S 2011 Presentation at both London and Paris Fashion Weeks. Jayne Pierson continues to work in the industry increasing the press profile and stockists of her label. She has twice been featured in Vogue Italiaâ€™s â€˜New Talentsâ€™ with editorial coverage in Vogue.com, Another, ID, Grazia, Elle, Collezioni, Notion, Deluxx Digital, Design News, Blown, Vogue Russia, Vogue Turkey, Harpers Bazar US amongst others.
Jayne Piersonâ€™s third season the Twin Parallel Collection S/S 2011 was also commissioned into a film directed by award winning film maker, Justin Anderson and styled by Jayne Pierson, which was shown exclusively on Vogue Italia and Diane Pernetâ€™s a Shaded View of Fashion.
Now in her fourth season, Jayne Pierson will show her first full catwalk show with On|Off at London Fashion Week in February 2011. Jayne is also in her second year to teach at the University of Glamorgan, her first being a visiting lecturer in Fashion Design in 2009.
Jayne Pierson has also worked as Music Editor for international arts culture, fashion, photography and music magazine, BLOWN and worked in this role for three years. She has commissioned editorial, art directed and styled fashion shoots with award-winning photographers Derrick Santini, Donald Christie and Iain Davies and regularly scouts for new musical talent to feature. The magazine is stocked in Waterstones, Selfridges, Harrods, Magma, Franks Bookstore London, Soho Books and international stockists amongst others.
