As Chair of Learn English in Wales, I work with accredited language schools and university language departments across Wales to foster good practice in English language learning and teaching. We host large conferences every eighteen months, where experienced teachers, trainees and students convene to share ideas and attend talks delivered by some of the leading names in English language learning and teaching today.
I was a City and Guilds IESOL and ISESOL examiner (2012-14)
I am researching the acquisition of formulaic language by non-native speakers of English. I am interested in the extent to which the learners’ proficiency is affected by the age of acquisition and the cultural proximity of their mother tongue to English.
