About

Iain Shewring graduated from the Polytechnic of Wales in 1991 with a BEng(Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and gained a MSc from the University of Glamorgan in 1992, and has been a lecturer at the University of Glamorgan, and then the University of South Wales, for 22 years, teaching both Electronics and Computing topics at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has gained considerable experience in these areas via 20 years of consultancy and technology transfer activities that has informed and enhanced both his teaching and research. His research interests include: computer architecture, custom processor design, Internet of Things (IoT) and computer and network security.

CEPE Technical Development Manager with over 24 years design experience, from Printed Circuit Board through to custom chip design.

Project manager and design authority for the Huntleigh Diagnostic Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design project, the product subsequently won the Queens Award for Innovation.
