Iain Shewring graduated from the Polytechnic of Wales in 1991 with a BEng(Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and gained a MSc from the University of Glamorgan in 1992, and has been a lecturer at the University of Glamorgan, and then the University of South Wales, for 23 years, teaching both Electronics and Computing topics at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has gained considerable experience in these areas via 20 years of consultancy and technology transfer activities that has informed and enhanced both his teaching and research. His research interests include: computer architecture, custom processor design, Internet of Things (IoT) and computer and network security.
