Mr. Stuart Twigg (retired Superintendent, South Wales Police & Police Staff College, Bramshill) joined the University after 32 years police service, in January 2008.
His expertise is extensive, covering operational command at major and critical incidents, specialist investigations and covert operations as well as police training and curriculum development in the areas of public order, firearms, race & diversity and leadership.
He is also skilled in the use of ‘Hydra’ interactive training. Stuart has worked extensively overseas especially in the Africa and the Middle East as an International Policing Advisor for the National Policing Improvements Agency (NPIA).
Whilst at the Police Staff College, Bramshill he had oversight of the academic studies of students attending the college from overseas.
Fellow of the Royal Geograpical Society.
Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
External examiner for HE cert. in police studies at the University of Ulster.
Currently studying / researching for a PhD in the area of police education and training.
