Experience

Since 1978 I worked in the construction industry in various functions progressing from site operative to supervisory roles prior to undergraduate study at the University of Glamorgan and subsequently undertaking research at the University into the implementation and development of quality management systems in the construction sector. Upon completion of this research I worked in various capacities in the Research Office at Glamorgan being responsible for the University’s research strategy and research performance management framework. From 2003 to 2008 I managed the Quality and Policy Office with responsibility for the University’s academic quality assurance processes. Since 2008 I have lectured in the Division of Construction and Real Estate acting as Award leader for the BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying award. I also currently act as an auditor for the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) undertaking institutional audits in English universities.
