The Role of Trade Unions in Addressing Workplace Bullying
Hazel Mawdsley is conducting research into the role of trade unions in addressing workplace bullying. The study is the first to examine trade union interventions and in depth.
The aims of the research are to determine the prevalence of bullying amongst members of three trade unions in different economic sectors, and identify their members’ needs and expectations in relation to union actions. The research will also examine how trade union officials are addressing workplace bullying, the outcomes they achieve and the difficulties they face. It is envisaged that the research findings will contribute towards developing the most effective preventative and remedial strategies for trade unions to adopt in tackling workplace bullying.
