Fiona is a Lecturer in Policing Practice supporting the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) and Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice courses which form part of the College of Policing’s ‘Policing Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF)’.
Prior to joining the University in March 2020, Fiona spent 3 years with Gloucestershire Constabulary, becoming PEQF Implementation Manager in July 2018. As such, Fiona was instrumental in driving change within Force towards launch of the PCDA and DHEP, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and agencies as well as representing the Force on PEQF matters at a local, regional and national level.
Fiona is equally proud of having received awards in the Constabulary and Police Crime Commissioner’s ‘Impact Awards’ for her work in delivering autism awareness training to police officers and staff as well as her voluntary work as a Cadet Leader with Gloucestershire Cadets.
Prior to joining Gloucestershire Constabulary, Fiona performed a variety of roles in her 18 year career as a Civil Servant in the Ministry of Defence before moving into Further Education where she worked for 11 years, gaining her Certificate in Education in 2010. An experienced lecturer, Fiona has extensive experience in supporting students with a wide range of learning needs.
