Serving police officer for over 25 years. Almost 20 years experience as a Crime Scene Investigator, Crime Scene Manager and Crime Scene Coordinator. Also trained in Fire and Explosion Investigation. Have conducted approximately five thousand crime scene examinations, and managed numerous major crime scenes, including several murder enquiries.
Module Leader for Volume Crime Scene Investigation (BSc), and Advanced Physical Evidence Analysis and Crime Scene Management (MSc). Also teach on Criminalistics, Investigation of Human Remains, and Practical Forensics for Policing.
Research generated through supervision and direction of BSc, MSci and MSc projects. Development of fingerprints on polymer bank notes, persistence of fingerprints in harsh environments, investigation of latent fingerprint development on skin, theoretical investigation of accurately ageing fingerprints, deposition and persistence of footwear marks in domestic and commercial environments.
