I am a RGN within the field of adult nursing with over twenty eight years nursing experience. My clinical background includes the acute care settings of surgery & ITU and for the last fifteen years working within community based nursing teams both at district nurse level and most recently for the last four years within the Multi Disciplinary Team of the @Home Service.
On qualifying in 1993 I began my nursing career at ward level on a general /arterial surgical ward at East Glamorgan General Hospital and then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. Following promotion I remained in post continuing to undertakes my professional development further until a new challenge was realised in 2003 and I joined the CTUHB District Nursing service as a community staff nurse.
Following my undertaking of the BSc in Community studies ( DN Specialist/ Nurse Prescriber ) in 2009 I remained in post as District Nurse deputy team leader both within valley & town community settings until a new opportunity arose as a Nurse Practitioner supporting the promotion of the new innovative community based team of the @Home Service.
Throughout my nursing career I have valued & enjoyed my role facilitating & promoting a learning environment within the clinical setting for both nursing students and fellow colleagues alike.
