John Wilson known as John
PhD in Zoology (University of Guelph)
MSc and DIC in Advanced Methods in Taxonomy and Biodiversity (University of London)
BSc (Hons) in Biology (University of Nottingham)
I have broad interests ranging from applied (maggot meal as fish feed) and medical entomology (ectoparasites and vectors), bio-monitoring (e.g. use of blowflies for mammal diversity assessments) and conservation, to fundamental research (phylogenetics and taxonomic revisions). A unifying theme in my research is the use of short DNA sequences (barcodes, minibarcodes, metabarcodes) to understand biodiversity.
