About

Ruth Matheson is currently Head of Learning, Teaching and Student Experience for the Faculty of Life Sciences and Education. Prior to this she spent 10 years as an Academic Developer in Cardiff Metropolitan University during which time she was recognised as a National Teaching Fellow (2012) and Teaching Fellow of the University of Wales (2010). Ruth started her career as an Occupational Therapist, entering Higher Education as a lecturer in occupational therapy (Cardiff University) in 1995. Her research interests lie in the pedagogy of higher education, transition and belonging, and the use of experiential learning to enhance creativity of thinking, learning and engagement.
