I am currently a research graduate in Cyber Security, undertaking a PhD research project under the KESS funding project.
I started my career in IT as a Software Engineer and spent 14 years as a Programmer/Analyst mainly working in the mainframe environment.
I have also been a teacher, having taught in further education and higher education as well as the prison service and the Ministry of Defence. My subject specialism has been varied as has the range of people I have taught. I have taught from 14 year old children on a course of study at local college up to my oldest student being 74 years young.
I have had a lot of other jobs including working as a gardener in Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, chef in a café, installer of Smart meters in homes, I have been a printer and a Commercial Manager.
I have 14 years as a Software Engineer working primarily in the private sector.
I have undertaken 3 Masters projects 2 in the Information Technology field and one in Finance and Accounting.
