About

Chris is a lecturer in Strength and Conditioning. He joined the University of South Wales in September 2017 having spent 10 years at the University of Salford. He is an Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) with the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Chris has applied experience across a variety of individual and team sports and is currently collaborating with numerous teams and institutes within the UK and abroad, while co-authoring 35 peer-reviewed journal articles/conference presentations relating to athletic performance monitoring and development. Chris was a recipient of the NSCA Doctoral Research Grant in 2016 and is part of the collaboration team who was awarded the NSCA International Collaboration Grant in 2017. Chris recently completed his PhD in Sports Biomechanics and Strength and Conditioning at the University of Salford investigating the relationships of strength and power measures to change of direction performance, with specific reference to the influence of muscle strength asymmetry.
