Hannah is currently the Academic Manager for Operational Policing within the School of Health, Sport and Professional Practice. Prior to this role Hannah was a Senior Lecturer within the International Centre for Policing and Security at the University and her main teaching subjects were Police Duties and Law and Performance and Development.
Prior to joining the University in 2017 Hannah served with South Wales Police as an operational Police officer for thirteen years, performing several roles throughout this time. Spending the majority of her service working within response and neighbourhood policing teams in the city centre of Cardiff, Hannah later became Staff Officer to the Chief Officer Group at Police Headquarters in Bridgend. Serving as a Police Sergeant for four years, Hannah managed the training of new police recruits and the delivery of College of Policing’s ‘Pre-join curriculum’ to both internal and external PC candidates. Most recently, prior to joining the University as a Senior Lecturer, Hannah was appointed Project Lead of the All Wales Police Force Strategic Group for the implementation of the College of Policing’s ‘Policing Education Qualifications Framework’ (PEQF). The PEQF aims to professionalise all roles within Policing in the UK and Hannah was responsible for managing the implementation of the Police Constable entry routes within Wales, sitting on the College of Policing’s National Initial Education Programme Board and Implementation Reference Group.
