After obtaining my 2:1 degree in Environmental Risk Management at UWIC, I continued working at UWIC, initially as a researcher, for the National Focus for Chemical Incidents, where I created guidelines for the minimum decontamination and protection equipment required for NHS hospitals and staff.
In 2001, still within UWIC I joined the Learning & Teaching Support Unit (LTSU), as e-Learning Administrator for Blackboard, the University’s Virtual Learning Environment. I supported staff in their use of Blackboard to create a blended learning approach for their students and managed the Blackboard system. I thoroughly enjoyed the job working my way through the ranks to become the Blended Learning Development Officer and remained there until I joined the University of South Wales in 2007.
Work related interests interests include e-assessment and how it can be used to enhance the learning experience for students. Other interests include DIY, baking and gardening.
